Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)

Among the challenges the State of Illinois faces in its effort to manage its natural resources is preserving and enhancing biological resources in a landscape that is 90 percent privately owned.

The mission of the Conservation Stewardship Program is to encourage landowners to advance the stewardship of our natural heritage for future generations by preserving the plants, animals and natural communities through management of the lands and waters they need to survive.  This plan offers the incentive of reduced valuation for unimproved land which will be applied to the 2009 taxes.    learn more...
